On Monday Sept. 30, AIESEC Chapel Hill welcomed its 2014 Local Committee President! The ceremony was brief as current 2013 LCP Sam Riemer dunked a bucket of water on her future successor Alexander Robinson.
Robinson received the LCP position due to her skill and commitment to AIESEC Chapel Hill for the last three semesters. She believes that she can fill the role of LCP with three key competencies: “vision, dedication, and interpersonal skills.”
“I’m motivated to be a leader because I believe that you gain when you give; the more of my time and dedication that I give to AIESEC the more I gain as personal and professional development,” said Robinson. “Without having the right words to articulate it or the outlet to act upon it, I have always believed in the mission of AIESEC: peace and fulfillment of humankinds’ potential. AIESEC gave me the platform to develop myself into someone who can actually contribute to the world and the development of the world’s potential in meaningful ways.”
Robinson started as a member of Outgoing Exchange but later discovered her calling for business. She has been vice president of Business Development since January 2013 and has gone on to become a Star Seller.
“I believe the experience I have gained as Vice President will be most helpful in the future, in other leadership positions, when I am required to find the balance between strategy and goals; meaningful strategy that will develop your team members is only valuable if it also helps them reach the goals you set,” said Robinson in her LCP application.
We all wish Alex the best of luck in her new leadership position at AIESEC Chapel Hill!
